The organisers of Cameras for Conservation and Botswana’s Wildlife Photographer of the year competition invite all photographers, Artists and Short Documentary makers in Botswana to enter the 2013 competition.
Botswana’s Wildlife Photographer of the year 2013:
Category Winners and a selection of highly commended photographs will be displayed in an exhibition at the Motsana Centre in Maun on the 19th April 2013. In addition to that, a selection of winning images will be published in Air Botswana’s Peolwane Magazine.
Entries are judged on technical quality, originality, and artistic merit. Enter a TOTAL of up to 3
images per category for an entry fee of BWP 20.00 per image.
Submissions may be emailed to the organisers or delivered on a disc to our office in Maun (Elephant Trails next to The French Connection Restaurant).
To enter create low-resolution JPEGs no larger than 5MB for each of your images and label each file with your first and last name, image title, and the category. (Example: SteveStockhall_Bateleur Eagle_Animal Behaviour.jpg)
Submissions will only be accepted from the 14th of January until the 14th March 2013

1. Animal Portraits
2. Animal Behaviour
3. Landscapes
4. Aerial and Underwater
5. Macro and Close up
6. Reptiles and Insects
7. Black and White Photography
8. Man and the environment
9. Trees and Plants
RULES:
All photographs must accurately reflect the subject matter as it appeared in the viewfinder. Nothing should be added to an image, and aside from dust spots and in camera digital spots, nothing should be taken away. Normal processing of RAW image files and minor adjustments to colour and contrast are acceptable, as is minimal cropping. NOTE: Images that do not comply with the contest rules will be eliminated from the competition. Select a category that you feel is the best fit for each image. Images may be moved to another category by the contest judges.

Images must have been taken in the country of Botswana by a citizen or resident of Botswana. There is no limitation on the time when the image was taken. Entries must be submitted by the original photographer or copyright holder. By entering the competition, photographers agree that the image/s may be displayed on the competition website, Face Book and displayed at the Motswana Centre and or any venue nominated for such display. Photographers also agree that by entering the competition that their images will be used for the education of young people in conservation. Images entered will not be used for commercial purposes unless agreed upon by the organisers of the competition and the relevant photographers.

Botswana’s Short Wildlife Documentary Maker of the year 2013
People living in Botswana may now enter Botswana’s Wildlife Short Documentary maker of the year 2013. Here are no categories and it is up to the documentary maker to provide a maximum of three minutes in the form of a short documentary covering any aspect of wildlife or conservation of wildlife in Botswana.
Merit will be given for narration, music and overall presentation of your documentary as well as artistic merit of filming.
